Dr. Ned Davila Avila

Graduated with honors from the University of Sonora(which accepts 120 students out of approximately 2,000 applicants annually)

Received her specialty training in Ophthalmology at the Association to Prevent Blindness in Mexico (which is one of the most recognized ophthalmology hospitals in the country). Continued her subspecialty training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at this prestigious institution, and her qualifications in ophthalmology recognized by the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Certified by the Mexican Council of Ophthalmology and the International Council of Ophthalmology

Member of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology, the Mexican Center of Cornea and Refractive Surgery, and the American Society of Cornea and Refractive Surgery

Within her subspecialty training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery, Dr. Davila has ample experience in the management of cases of keratocone, infectious diseases affecting the cornea, pterigion, dry eye, and conjunctivitis.

Completed over 300 technologically innovative laser surgeries to improve vision without glasses. Certified in the implantation of intraocular phakic lenses (ICL ®, SMILE ®, presbyond ®) and experienced in surgeries used to treat keratocone including intracorneal rings, cross linking, and cataract surgery.

In terms of surgeries to improve the ocular surface, Dr. Davila is experienced in the transplant of limbus cells (SLET) and biopsies of the conjunctiva, and has high expertise in pterigion surgeries

Performed over 80 corneal transplants using penetrative techniques and laminar transplants.

Contributed to book chapters and published over 10 articles related to neuroscience and ophthalmology in National and international journals. Presented at multiple national and international conferences.
